Job Responsibilities

As a Housekeeper at [Your Company Name], you’ll play an integral role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our vacation rental properties. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning and maintenance: Professionally clean and maintain properties using company-prescribed cleaning procedures, products, and equipment. This includes sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Furniture and laundry: Move reasonably portable furniture to clean underneath and behind, and assist with laundry as needed.
  • Inventory and supplies: Replenish consumable items such as toiletries and paper products to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Property inspection: Identify and report damages, create maintenance tickets as necessary, and notify management of any concerns.
  • Hot tub maintenance: Perform basic maintenance and care for hot tubs; on-site training provided.
  • Guest experience: Ensure homes are clean, safe, and welcoming, helping create a positive guest experience.
  • Additional tasks: Attend mandatory meetings, adhere to housekeeping metrics, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

Must-have:

  • Reliable transportation to Louis Lake Lodge (located off a dirt forest service road)
  • Smartphone and personal email address for communication and updates.
  • Weekend availability to meet business needs.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Willingness to learn – no experience required, as training will be provided.

Nice-to-have:

  • Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience.
  • Familiarity with cleaning equipment and tools.

Driving requirements:

  • For positions requiring a personal vehicle: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and minimum age of 16.
  • For positions requiring a company vehicle: Valid driver’s license, minimum age of 21, and at least 3 years of licensed driving experience.

Success Criteria

To be successful in this role, as a Housekeeper at Louis Lake Lodge, you are expected to:

  • Consistently meet or exceed cleanliness standards as measured by guest feedback and internal audits.
  • Complete assigned cleaning tasks within established timeframes without compromising quality.
  • Maintain an average score of [specific metric, such as 95%] or higher in post-cleaning inspections.
  • Report maintenance issues promptly and ensure they are logged accurately to support timely resolution.
  • Uphold safety and hygiene protocols, including proper handling of cleaning supplies and equipment.

Compensation

Base salary: $14.00 per hour. Actual pay may vary based on skills, experience, and additional duties.

Additional earnings: Overtime opportunities based on business needs.

Lodge Caretaker-$200 day, 5 days a week

 Louis Lake Lodge caretaker general job responsibilities

 

The Lodge Caretaker is responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and smooth functioning of the lodge facilities. This includes overseeing the day-to-day operations of the lodge to ensure a comfortable and hospitable environment for guests and addressing any issues or concerns promptly.

 

 Specific Responsibilities Guest Services: 

1) Welcome guests upon arrival and assist with check-in/check-out procedures.

 2) Provide information about lodge facilities, services, and local attractions. 

3) Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints courteously and efficiently. 

4) Ensure guest rooms and common areas are clean, well-maintained, and properly stocked with amenities.

 

 Facility Management: 

1) Conduct regular inspections of lodge facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards. 

2) Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the lodge and cabins, including guest rooms, common areas, outdoor spaces, and bathhouse. 

3) Clean and sanitize rooms regularly, change linens after every use, and ensure proper upkeep of all areas. 

4) Regularly attend to the general surroundings of the lodge, including fire pits and other common spaces, exterior cleaning, and overall aesthetic appeal of the facility. 

5) Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance and repair needs. 

6) Address minor repairs and maintenance tasks promptly or coordinate with maintenance personnel to resolve any issues. 

7) Monitor and maintain inventory of lodge supplies, including toiletries, linens, and kitchen essentials. 

8) Ensure stock levels are maintained, and orders are placed on time to meet guest requirements. 

9) Maintain a log book to record daily work engagement for integrity, transparency, and accountability. 

10)Handle emergency situations, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, or other unforeseen events.

 

 Administrative Duties: 

1) Help to maintain accurate records of guest reservations, payments, and other relevant information using computerized systems or manual logs. 

2) Maintain effective communication with the guest house in-charge management, and other staff members. 

3) Report any significant incidents, issues, or guest feedback to the Lodge Manager. 

4) Handle financial transactions, including collecting payments, issuing receipts, and managing petty cash.

 

 Team Work:

1) Collaborate with other staff members, including housekeeping, maintenance, and administrative personnel, to ensure smooth and seamless operation of the lodge..

 2) Foster a positive work environment based on teamwork, mutual respect, and open communication. 

3) Ability to multitask and adjust to the changing demands of the work environment occasionally under stress and pressure.

 

 Qualifications: 

1) A preference for applicants with experience in hospitality management, facility maintenance, or a related field but not necessary. 

2) Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and staff members from diverse backgrounds. 

3) Ability to use emails for basic correspondence with guests

4) Good organizational and time-management abilities, with a keen attention to detail. 

5) Basic proficiency in computer applications such as working with our online reservation system Google drive docs and sheets. 

6) Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. 

7) Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. 

 

Reporting: 

1) The Lodge Caretaker will work under the direct supervision of the Lodge Manager and also report directly to the Lodge Manager. NOTE: This Terms of Reference is considered dynamic, fluid, and flexible and may be subject to modification or revision at the discretion of the lodge management and that contribute to the overall management of the services and upkeep of the Louis Lake lodge.
