Facilities

There is no electricity at Louis Lake!  That’s right, no televisions, no telephones, or laptops.  Bring your own flashlights, and we provide propane and / or solar lanterns, bedding, towels and kitchen utensils.  True getaway!

Many families enjoy repeat visits to Louis Lake every year. Plan well in advance for your family reunion or group adventure by making a reservation early.  We take group reservations years in advance.

Water Fun

We have a wide assortment of watercraft for you to use on Louis Lake. Of course you can swim and fish in the lake as well. There is also a beach not far from your comfy cabin.

Historical Areas

There are several historical areas to explore close to the Louis Lake Lodge. South Pass City, Granier Ditch and many more. Bring your curiosity and you will be awed by the history of the area.

Driving Tours

There are several excellent historic and scenic areas to enjoy by car. The “loop road,” the Red Desert, and several pioneer trail sites criss-cross this same desert area. You will definitely be getting out of the car to get a closer look!

ATV & Mountain Bike Tours

Many ATV and mountain bike trails are accessible from the lodge. Maxon Basin, Christina Lake, Granier Meadows East, South Radar Towers, and the Red Desert Trails to name just a few. 

Louis Lake Lodge is operated under special use permit in the Shoshone National Forest
